Elizabeth Barnes is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 10+ years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. Elizabeth uses a diverse approach specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy. Elizabeth enjoys partnering with her clients to discover the most effective and collaborative approach to take, incorporating her client’s strengths and needs. First and foremost, her goal is to create a safe and warm environment for client’s to meet their desired goals.
Elizabeth’s bulk of experience is working with individuals who have experienced trauma, PTSD, addiction, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, phobias, OCD, and grief. Elizabeth enjoys helping clients through transitions in their life. She also has experience working with families who are struggling with a child enduring addiction.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, and a dual Masters of Arts degree in Community and Counseling Psychology from Sage Graduate School in Albany, NY.
