Sami Waterhouse, MFT (she/her) is a mental health provider who is experienced in working with individual clients, couples, and family systems. When working with individuals, Sami’s treatment aims to help clients make progress towards their goals in therapy while supporting them through the process.

With couples and families, Sami focuses on working with the established family system to create the best form of change for each person in the family, and to help them create the change in their relationships that will best help in the long-term. Sami is a compassionate and committed therapist who strives to create a warm, non-judgmental space for all clients. 

Sami works with individuals who present with depression, anxiety, anxiety-related disorders, relationship issues, marital counseling, and adjusting to changes that occur throughout the lifetime. Sami’s treatment modalities include Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), communication skills, Integrated Family Systems Therapy, attachment theory, and strength-based approach.

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a specialization in Neuroscience and Behavior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Sami pursued a Masters degree at Plymouth State University focused on Marriage and Family Therapy. During her time at Plymouth State, Sami focused on working with couples and families in therapy. She gained expertise during this time working with clients in a partial-hospitalization setting, where she spent a year in internship working with clients who had symptoms of depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and past trauma. This experience provided her with skills in CBT and DBT, as well as solution-focused and strength-based approaches.
