Kim is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2016 and her Master of Social Work from Simmons University in 2019. She also completed her Certificate in Trauma Practice upon graduation from Simmons. Kim’s focus in her graduate education was on trauma treatment across the lifespan with a specialized focus on early-childhood trauma and play therapy. Kim has experience working with a diverse population of children and their families in group-home settings, therapeutic school settings, and in-home and community-based settings. Kim also enjoys working with teens and young adults, especially individuals in the LGBTQ+ community.

Kim primarily utilizes psychodynamic and attachment-based therapeutic methods as well as cognitivebehavioral techniques. Her style in session is relational, collaborative, open-minded, and curious. She works to help clients feel comfortable and provide them with a positive and encouraging environment to work on their goals. When working with young children, Kim is very playful and adaptive in order to meet the kids exactly where they are at. She utilizes play therapy as the primary method of intervention for young children and works closely with parents in order to best meet their goals.
