Dawn Adams, LICSW
Psychotherapist – Beverly, MA
I am an LICSW experienced in assisting clients through life transitions such as separation, moving, grief, and health changes. I recognize that life changes are often accompanied by depression and anxiety which can sometimes translate into feeling overwhelmed or stuck. During these times, I can be effective in assisting clients to recognize their unique strengths and supports to promote moving forward.
Experience has taught me that successful therapy requires a collaborative effort. Forming the strongest therapeutic alliance begins with carefully listening as my client shares their story and experience. I enjoy exploring client’s core values and interests with them and identifying ways to incorporate these into their lives. Many clients report an overall improved quality of life through this practice.
I received my both my bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in social work from Salem State University and have eighteen years of experience in the social work field. Cornerstones of my practice include solutions focused therapy, mindfulness and CBT modalities. I also utilize motivational interviewing to help clients overcome perceived barriers and implement positive change.
