Sabrina Clopton, MSW
Psychotherapist – Andover, MA
I am an intake specialist at Family Counseling Associates and a graduate of Tulane University where I received my Masters in Social Work. I hold an undergraduate degree in Art History from The College of William and Mary. I work with clients ages 16 and older and have a special interest in women’s issues and adjustment to life transitions.
Originally from the Washington, DC area, my work has encompassed a variety of clinical settings including community mental health on Capitol Hill, in the Emergency Room and Psychiatric Department of Washington Hospital Center, and as the Coordinator of assessment and referral for the City of Alexandria, Virginia’s Outpatient Mental Health Services. I have worked with diverse populations across the lifespan coping with mood, anxiety, trauma and substance abuse related disorders. My work is guided by inclusivity, cultural sensitivity and respect for individual integrity.
My goal is to help client’s improve functioning through exploring their relationships with others and the environment. I believe in every individual’s capacity for positive change through achievable goal setting, skills acquisition and successful application. My style is eclectic, client-centered and solution focused and I employ a variety of strengths based techniques that always begin where the client is ready to start.
