Janelle Ford is a licensed mental health counselor who received her Masters of Arts and Social Sciences from Lesley University with a focus on Holistic modalities. Janelle provides therapy to children ages 4 and up, adolescents, adults, and families. She is available for individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
Janelle focuses on providing a safe environment where the client and counselor can create a strong therapeutic alliance. Her therapeutic style is geared towards humanistic therapy, creating a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and humor with an emphasis on the authentic self. Janelle does not use one therapeutic modality but instead utilizes a broad range of therapeutic styles to best fit her clients’ individual needs. Janelle has experience with Play Therapy, Expressive Therapy, Art Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, community-based, and hospitals.
Janelle has worked with a variety of clients who live with anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and mood disorders, as well as clients who experience the effects of trauma, low self-esteem, anger, and school truancy. Janelle has experience working with the LGBTQ+ community focusing on gender identity, gender transition, sexual identity, coping with discrimination, and fostering authentic self.
