Erin Farrell, LCMHC
Psychotherapist – Exeter, NH
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who has worked in the field of mental health for over 18 years. Much of my experience has been in the community mental health system as well as some private practice work. In the course of my career, I have had many roles and worked with a wide variety of clients including children, adolescents, families, and adults. There are many clinical concerns for which I have provided counseling, including depression and other mood problems, anxiety and related issues, trauma, personality disorders, stage of life issues, and life transitions. At Family Counseling Associates, I will be providing therapy to adolescents (age 14 and up), families, and adults looking for support for these and other concerns.
My approach to therapy is to create a warm, non-judgmental space for all clients to share their experiences and focus on their goals. I am trained in multiple clinical practices, but primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered interventions when working with my clients. I am comfortable adapting my practice to meet individual client needs; I can provide a more skills-based approach for clients looking for a more direct instruction and a more exploratory and narrative approach for those who do not necessarily want an instructional experience. I believe open and honest communication combined with a supportive and accepting environment sets the foundation for a good therapeutic relationship and guides the therapy experience toward reaching personal aspirations.
