Erin Papageorgiou, M.Ed, LMFT, LMHC
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) specializing in individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and couples. My approach to treatment is eclectic as I utilize various treatment approaches including; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, Psycho-Social Education, Narrative Therapy and incorporate aspects of Play Therapy with children. My focus is to provide therapy to those suffering from anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment disorders, familial and relationship/marital issues, grief/loss and difficult life transitions. My approach to therapy is to develop a genuine and strong therapeutic relationship in a warm and supportive environment that focuses on working toward client growth and goal achievement by identifying strengths and needs of each individual.
Education and Experience
I received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Westfield State College and a Masters of Education degree from Springfield College. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families of all ages in a variety of settings including; home-based, school-based and outpatient facilities. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with the Department of Children and Families, Community Based Mental Health providers, schools and medical providers in order to provide the best care possible.
