Marie Tan Gipson, MD

Dr. Marie Gipson is a dual board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in the care of children and young adults. She serves as the medical director of Refresh Mental Health in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and maintains a busy clinical practice with affiliate Life Changes Group. Dr. Gipson is academically-affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, and maintains an academic practice where she sees patients with complex neuropsychiatric issues.

Dr. Gipson is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her residency in general psychiatry with the LSU-Ochsner Psychiatry Residency, and then completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Boston Children’s Hospital where she also served as Chief Fellow.

Dr. Gipson previously served as lead physician for the inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric services at both Boston Children’s Hospital and Stanford’s Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital, and strongly believes in treating mental health disorders through comprehensive interdisciplinary teams. Her clinical interests focus include depression, anxiety, OCD, tics, BFRBs, insomnia and trauma. She is passionate about providing gender and sexual minority affirming care. When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending performing arts events, and trying new foods.
