Elizabeth Vangelist is a licensed mental health counselor and registered art therapist with over 10 years of post-master’s experience. Elizabeth assists individuals struggling with adjustment, anxiety, depression, grief, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders. She is empathetic, open-minded, compassionate, and caring. Her eclectic theoretical approach is client-centered and solution focused with a strong emphasis on dialectical behavioral skills (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy skills (CBT), and trauma informed care.
Elizabeth received a Bachelor of Arts from Colby-Sawyer College, where she studied English, Psychology, and Studio Art. She received a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling in 2010 from Lesley University. Elizabeth has experience providing care to individuals and families in a variety of treatment settings including individual therapy, partial hospital level of care, and a residential therapeutic day school for adolescents. Elizabeth offers both in office and telehealth services.
Elizabeth has special interest and experience working with those who identify as LGBTQ+, first responders, supporting those with learning differences, and sports psychology. In her spare time, she enjoys time in nature, pets, music, and supporting her local community.
