Dignified Mental Health Care for Families, Couples and Individuals

Life is unpredictable. And when personal or professional stress is present, it can cause relationship strain and other mental or physical side effects. Family Counseling Associates of Danvers provides the height of care when it comes to mental health issues with comprehensive outpatient counseling services. Whether you are looking for therapy for yourself, your child or even you and your partner, we are ready to help.

Oftentimes, dealing with anxiety, depression or even marriage issues can overlap with other issues. This is why our compassionate and experienced staff tailors the treatment you receive based on your own individual needs. Our evidence-based approach includes techniques and tools that are incorporated into group therapy sessions, counseling focused on insight, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychiatric medicine, neurofeedback and psychological testing. As such, we customize your treatment to what is most beneficial to you. We treat the whole person rather than just the underlying issue.

Young people need special treatment

School can be a trying time for many kids and teenagers. And as a parent, there is nothing more heart wrenching than seeing your daughter or son struggle in studies, confidence and friendships. But the good news is you don’t have to feel helpless. Our evidence-based treatments for young people allow your child to receive the highest level of mental health care to provide them with the best chance of success.

With group and individual therapy options, we can help your child function at their best every day and overcome challenges. No matter if he or she is dealing with social skills issues, anxiety or depression, anger or hyperactivity issues, or issues with emotions, our experts can work with them to utilize techniques to work through these issues.

Our treatments include not only resources for your child, but also resources for you to help cultivate a positive family environment.

Specialized treatment for children

When considering mental health treatment, kids require unique treatment options. Family Counseling Associates provides groups focused on social skills for children 7-10 years of age. These group sessions work to address behavioral issues and mental issues that kids of this age face.

Whether your child is uncomfortable socially, feels awkward or left out in school and friend groups, feels misunderstood or even acts in an impulsive way, the social skills group can help your child find relief and gain control of their emotions while building friendships and learning to be empathetic.

The social skills sessions are 10 weeks long and held Tuesdays from 4 -5 p.m.

Treatment plans for young adults and teens

Teens can face a set of challenges that kids and adults may not understand. As such, we offer individualized therapy for teens that includes a life skills group and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. These sessions are ideal for teens aged 12-18 and even young adults ages 19-24.

These programs are six weeks and focus on communication skills, coping strategies and even incorporate art therapy and expressive therapy to help clients function optimally.
