Erin McLoud M.Ed.,LICSW
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker trained in a variety of disciplines. My approach is eclectic but I rely upon the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and also make use of mindfulness techniques and aspects of play therapy in my work with children (ages 8 and up), adolescents and families. My focus is to provide therapy to those struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma and school-related struggles as well as familial and relationship issues. I also enjoy working with adults and have particular experience with job-related concerns and difficult life transitions. My approach to therapy is relaxed, welcoming and empathic with an emphasis on developing a strong therapeutic relationship that focuses on examining and working toward client-identified goals.
Education and Experience
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire and hold a Masters of Social Work degree from Boston College as well as a Masters of Education degree with a concentration in school counseling from Boston University. I have experience working as a high school guidance counselor and am familiar with the Massachusetts school system which is helpful in my work with children and families. Other past clinical roles include working as a clinical coordinator in a community-based mental health program as well as a mental health therapist and clinical case manager for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
